A brief report on a great weekend..
Myself and Mr Watson packed our tents and hit the road Friday morning. Once past Settle we hit some lovely roads on the way through Ribblehead, Buttertubs, Hawes, Brough and Middleton in Teesdale.
Like Border Reevers of old we raided Bellingham Co-op for beer and snacks and headed to our campsite on the Keilder Midgefarm.
After a rather wet evening we packed our soden gear and headed north up to Duns.
The Jim Clark Trust had kindly sorted out camping on a field next to the golf course about 1 mile from the venue.
Tents up and drying we headed to the Castle just as everyone else went home from the event.
No one seemed to know who’s job it was to throw us out so we had a lovely hour or so alone with some fantastic cars in an amazing venue.
After this it was over to Eyemouth to meet Rick, Steve, Martin, Alison & Ian for some rather spendid fish and chips on the harbour. Stopped at the Jim Clark Clock at Churnside on the way back to the campsite.
Sunday we packed up our dry tents and went to the golf club for showers and brilliant cooked breakfast. All camping should be on a golf course!
After that we headed back to the Castle but had to share the venue this time.
We got to hear a couple of cars fired up by Clive Chapman, Bob Dance and the team from CTL.
It was a fantastic weekend and could not of been any better. Then it pissed it down pretty much all the way home, cant have everything.
